Ababa Lama of Ethiopia won Saturday night’s “Midnattsloppet” (“The Midnight Run”) in Stockholm, finishing the 10 km in 30:15. The fastest woman over the distance was Frida Lundén, at 36:14.

Altogether around 24,400 runners started the race, and 100,000 spectators came out on a warm evening to watch them run through the streets of the southern Stockholm island of Södermalm.

The race was first held in 1982, and has been so successful that spin-offs are now held in Gothenburg and the Finnish capital Helsinki.
