Card skimming grinds to a halt
Less than ten cases of credit card skimming have been reported this year after various measures to protect consumers from having their cards copied were introduced, Swedish Radio News reports.
In 2010, around 200 cases were reported, while in 2011 there were only 50 cases.
According to the police, several actors have implemented safety measures to bring about the drop. Banks have new technology in their cash machines, shops use chips for card payments and gas stations have begun to monitor their machines more closely.
