Fake one-krona coins that have baffled experts may only be half-fake, according to newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.

The coins have appeared in general circulation over the summer and look like normal coins on one side, but on the side with the King's head the King's name and the phrase "Sweden's King" has been replaced with the words "Our whoring King".

Coin experts have been puzzled as the "correct" side of the coin looks like normal, but the fake side is poorly manufactured. They now think that the coins are half-real and half-fake, with the counterfeiter scraping away one side of the metal and pressing their own fake front onto it.

Police still have no clues as to who has made the coins.
