Published torsdag 23 augusti 2012 kl 17.28
Sweden's JAS Gripen fighter jets will partipate in war games with NATO forces

War planes from six countries including the US and the UK will participate in military exercises over northern Sweden and Finland next week. The exercise, called Nordic Air Meet, will take place over ten days and is aimed to improve coordination between the countries' air forces, according to the Swedish Armed Forces.

Air forces from the US, UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and Denmark will take part.

Previous exercises in the region involving NATO countries have attracted criticism from neighbouring Russia.
