Christmas Butterscotch (Knäck)
What you need:
3 dl sugar
3 dl treacle
3 dl cream
75 g almonds or other nuts (our expert says: Go nuts)
What you do:
Chop the nuts. Mix all the other ingredients together in a thick-bottomed pan and let simmer slowly while stirring all the while. After the mixture has passed the cold water test*, remove the pan from the stove and mix in the nuts. Pour immediately into small paper moulds and place a toothpick in the middle of each.
*Drop half a teaspoon of the candy mixture into a cup of cold water. If the drop stays together, the mixture is ready.
