A Swiss "no" could scupper new Gripen
Sweden's planned next-generation warplanes may have to be shelved, if Switzerland decides that it is not interested in buying any.
The new JAS Gripen planes are to be built by the SAAB aerospace company. But the Swedish government has added a clause to the contract, saying that if Switzerland decides not to buy, the planes can be cancelled as late as 2014.
Defence Minister Karin Enström says that "we want to do this with at least one other country."
