A debate has broken out in Sweden over the Meat Free Monday campaign. Supporters say it improve their health and the health of the planet. But when the people behind Meat Free Monday suggested that hospitals should stop serving meat on Mondays, the Federation of Swedish Farmers came out in opposition.
Radio Sweden hosted a debate on the issue on Friday. Joining us in the studio were Jan Eksvärd, a senior expert of sustainable development for the Federation of Swedish Farmers, and Jonas Paulsson, the founder of the Swedish Meat Free Monday campaign who won the environmental hero of the year award from WWF for 2011.
