Hanson aiming to help the blues in Chicago

Sweden's only representative in the Ryder Cup, Peter Hanson, says he's looking forward to playing his part in trying to help Europe defend its trophy against the Americans in Chicago. Hanson did not feature in Friday morning's first foursome but was hopeful of partnering Paul Lawrie in the afternoon session at the Medinah Country Club.

The 39th Ryder Cup takes place in front of a large vociferous home crowd. Jose Maria Olazabal's Europeans are battling to retain the trophy they won at the Celtic Manor in 2010.

Peter Hanson made his debut at Celtic Manor, but still has some way to go to match Sweden's most successful golfer in Ryder Cup history, Per-Ulrik Johansson, who played in two team matches and 5 individual matches, winning three.
