Government classifies all information on Säpo

The government has forbidden all investigations into how the intelligence service Säpo uses its money. Broadsheet Dagens Nyheter reports that even Säpo's coffee budget is now secret.

The intelligence service was one of the government bodies that was criticised for spending too much on employee parties. After Dagens Nyheter's report on Säpo's James Bond-themed party, which cost five million kronor, the Minister of Justice Beatrice Ask has decided that publishing such information can threaten Swedish state security.

Everything from what rents Säpo pays, to how much they spend on wire taps, is now classified.
