Quad bike deaths on the rise
Two children were hurt in a quad bike accident near Hultsfred on Saturday, as figures show that the number of accidents involving these vehicles has risen.
The two injured were a girl aged 15 and a boy aged 12. Their quad bike overturned on Saturday evening and they were taken to Västervik Hospital. So far there are no further details of how serious the children's injuries are.
Last year 9 people died, and 33 were injured in incidents involving quad bikes, also known as ATVs. The figures come from the Swedish Transport Administration. This government agency is now working on a policy aimed at reversing a rising trend.
