A Social Democratic election worker has admitted sending threatening letters under the name of a leading conservative Moderate local politician in Gothenburg.

Local newspaper Göteborgs Posten reports that the man has been arrested by police and has now admitted writing the notes.

The letters included demands for sex, and he threatened to mutilate the women if they did not comply.

One of the recipients of the letters was a well known blogger and entrepreneur who says she was forced to move and undergo therapy as a result of the letters.

The politician whose name the election worker used claims it was a political stunt to damage his party, news agency TT reports.
