A private plane with two passengers onboard crashed lunchtime Tuesday.
The plane was about to land at the Westlanda airport in western Sweden. The police confirmed that the two male passengers are dead.
“Witnesses say they saw a wing fall off at 60 metres’ height,” said Lars-Olof Jöckert of the Sea and Air rescue services.
The plane crashed into a river a few hundred metres south of the airport runway. The bodies of the two passengers were found next to the plane within an hour of the incident.
The Swedish Accident Investigation Authority has been informed.
