Commuter rail links Stockholm to Arlanda and Uppsala

Published söndag 9 december 2012 kl 14.36
Until now, the only train all the way from central Stockholm to Arlanda airport has been the Arlanda Express, with SEK 260 as its normal ticket price. Passengers from Stockholm can now take a commuter rail train to Arlanda airport or to Uppsala.

The Greater Stockholm Local Transit Company and Upplands Lokaltrafik launched the new line Sunday, which goes from Alvsjö to Uppsala, and stopping at different stations along the way, including at Sweden's biggest airport.

Taking the train to Arlanda costs between SEK 75 and SEK 125, depending on whether the passenger already has a transit pass. The journey from the center of Stockholm to Arlanda using the new line takes about 35 minutes.

The train goes twice an hour from early morning until around 10 p.m. Late nights and weekend mornings, the train will go less frequently - about once an hour. The last train each day will embark around midnight.
