The train that went through the end of line barrier and crashed into an apartment building almost two weeks ago has now been removed. Two cranes and a tractor were needed to lift and move the commuter train in Saltsjöbaden, southeast of Stockholm.

Thomas Hedenius of the train operator Arriva tells the TT news agency they had to saw the train up to free it. He says everything went according to plan, and the house is still standing.

The police are particularly interested in the driver’s cab, in order to determine what could have set the train in motion. After she recovered in the hospital, the cleaner who was in the train at the time said she didn’t remember what happened.

Any suspicion against her has been laid aside, and the police investigation is into possible security violations in the train.
