The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is to allow a wolf hunt this winter, according to Swedish Radio News.

Permission is to be given to kill a total of 18 wolves from nine wolf territories.

The hunt will take place over the next few weeks, before the mating season begins. The agency has previously said any wolf hunt would be aimed at killing specific animals though to be in-bred. This comes following criticism from the European Commission against a larger hunt.
