Bus passengers split up on basis of ethnicity

Published lördag 23 mars 2013 kl 09.39

A bus chauffeur working for Eckerölinjen’s Åland ferry put passengers in different buses depending on how they looked, reports the newspaper Dagens Nyheter. One bus was for "Swedes” and one for "people who looked foreign”.

"It felt like we were on our way to Arlanda airport to be deported out of Sweden,” one of the passengers told the newspaper.

The Veolia-owned People Travel Group has now removed the chauffeur from the tour. On Monday he will be asked to explain his actions to the company’s management board.
