Man arrested sixth time for smuggling yoghurt
The Swedish-Norwegian border trade reported a multi-billion turnover this week - and that is excluding the illegal trade in a range of products, including yoghurt.
On the border by Svinesund, duty officers recently stopped a driver for the sixth time. He had 240 kilos of yogurt in the back of his car.
The man told the authorities that the yoghurt was for a Turkish club in Oslo.
He has already been arrested on suspicion of smuggling four times this year, most recently last weekend. On that occasion he also carried large amounts of yoghurt, as well as some cheese.
"Yoghurt smuggling is not that common," said customs officer Wenche Frediksen
