Commenting on the current unrest in Turkey, Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt says he hopes law makers there will not crack down on social media.

Writing on Twitter, Bildt says he hopes Turkish officials will: "come to their sense and refrain from any social media censorship."

There have been calls from within the Turkish government to clamp down on social media use, such as Twitter, which has been widely used by demonstrators taking to the streets across the country to protest against Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan.
