Hairdressers sign agreement and call off strike

Published söndag 16 juni 2013 kl 18.01

Hairdressers in Sweden have called off their strike, planned to start on Monday, after a new collective agreement was signed between the union and the employers' association.

Around 5,00 hairdressers in Sweden are covered by the new agreement, which will mean "A pay rise at the same level as other groups" says Tommy Tillgren, deputy chair of the Handels labour union to news agency TT. He also says that the extra pay for working evenings and weekends is unaffected, just as the union wanted.
