Woman fakes cancer to avoid prison

Published måndag 17 juni 2013 kl 11.07

The newspaper Metro reports that a woman in Skåne tried to avoid a prison sentence by claiming to have terminal cancer.

She had been sentenced to prison for fraud, but produced a faked medical certificate that said she had only three to six months to live.

The probation service accepted the false information, but the Social Insurance Agency caught the fake document.

Now the court of appeals has added two months to her sentence, for forgery.
