Assange meets Ecuador's foreign minister
Wikileaks founder Julian Assange made a brief public appearance Sunday as he met Ecuador’s foreign ministry at his refuge at that country’s embassy in London.
Assange has been holed up at the mission for almost a year, after losing an extradition hearing on whether he should be sent back to Sweden for questioning about sexual assault allegations.
Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Ricardo Patino is to hold talks with his British counterpart William Hague to try to find a solution to the impasse. Assange has been granted asylum in Ecuador, but if he leaves the embassy, the British police say they take him into custody.
