The grocery store chain ICA has recalled thousands of frozen hamburgers of its own brand after tests revealed salmonella contamination.

The recall concerns packages of the ICA brand containing eight hamburgers with a total weight of 720 grams and a best by date of June 11 and June 12, 2014. The product has been sold in ICA stores around Sweden since June 12 this year.

ICA’s Kerstin Lindvall tells Swedish Radio News that the hamburgers contain meat from Sweden, Finland, and Ireland. It’s uncertain how many packages are involved.

Altogether, ICA says, it’s received 10,000 packages from the distributor, although most have not been delivered to stores before the test results came in.
