Swedish women ranked second in Europe
The Swedish national women’s soccer team will be taking part in the upcoming European championships here as the second highest ranked squad in Europe.
The latest rankings from the international football organization FIFA put Pia Sundhage’s team as number five in the world. Topping the list is the United States, the team Pia Sundhage coached to two Olympic gold medals.
World number two is Germany, regarded as the favorite for the European title. Euro 2013 will be held at seven venues around Sweden, beginning on July 10, with the final at Stockholm’s Friends Arena on July 28.
