Wine to be sold with groceries over Internet

Published onsdag 26 juni 2013 kl 15.19

A Swedish grocery chain, City Gross, wants to start selling wine to customers who do their food shopping over the Internet, with home delivery

The chain says their customers want to be able to combine their food and wine in an easy way.

In Sweden, where the sale of alcohol is heavily regulated, the initiative has been met with criticism from Systembolaget, the state-owned retail alcohol monopoly, as well as from the temperance organisation IOGT-NTO.

The other Swedish grocery chains that do home delivers, Ica and Coop, say they have no plans to start including alcohol.
