Just a day after their loss against France in the Euro quarter final, Sweden's women's basketball team lost against Belarus Friday afternoon in a qualifier for next year's World Cup in Turkey. The strong Belarussian team beat Sweden 69-48.

"We're very disappointed. We had already forgotten the defeat against France this morning, and were set on making it to the World Cup," Sweden's Anna Barthold told Swedish Radio after the game. "But we didn't have the same flow as yesterday."

A knee problem meant Ashley Key, one of Sweden's key players against France on Thursday, could not play many minutes in Friday's game.

Halfway through the game, the Swedes trailed by only three points, but a strong Belarussian response meant the team surged to seal the win by over 20 points.
