Sweden has one of the highest food prices in Europe. In a large comparison by Statistics Sweden that looked at the price of food in 30 countries, Sweden ends up fourth, after famously expensive Norway, Switzerland and Denmark.

It's primarily the cost of fruits and vegetables that places Sweden in the high price category, you pay 40 percent over the EU average for your greens here.

The comparison included 500 different grocery products. The cheapest food in Europe can be found in Poland.
