Swedish food retailer recalls ham

Published tisdag 16 juli 2013 kl 10.48

Food retailer ICA has recalled five meat products that may contain metal splinters.

The potentially affected products have been on sale across Sweden and were recalled after ICA's providers noticed damages to a part used in the production process.

"During a standard check our provider noticed one of the parts had been worn out," ICA spokesperson Sara Hjelm said.

"It is a very limited number: 650 packages. But of course we are recalling them anyway. Anyone who has bought the products can just return them and you can also contact our customer service," Hjelm told tabloid Aftonbladet.

The recalled items are ICA's own brand and include ham, pastrami and turkey sausage products.
