Cops deliver baby in police car

Published onsdag 17 juli 2013 kl 13.59

Two policemen in Kiruna, northern Sweden helped a pregnant woman through labour after she stopped their car in the middle of a road.

"It was of course an extraordinay event but you have to focus on doing your job and help as much as you can," police officer Anders Malmström told the P4 Norbotten radio station.

Malmström and his colleague Greger Stridsman helped the woman through labour. She gave birth to a baby boy in the police car.

"We are pleased and happy that everything went well and we wish the family luck. This is something you will always remember," said Malmström.

An ambulance eventually arrived to take care of the family and the newborn baby.
