Police drop Sweden Democrat rape case
Police have dropped a rape investigation into a former leading figure in the Sweden Democrats.
The man is still suspected of two cases of sexual assault, which police are continuing to investigate.
He was accused of rape by a fellow party member on July 9th.
The Sweden Democrats entered parliament for the first time in 2010, on a platform of cutting immigration.
The accused man was formally a high-ranking party worker, but left this position in 2012. Following the rape allegation earlier this month, the Sweden Democrats asked the man to leave the party entirely.
