Italian Man Detained in Bengtsson Kidnapping
A Swedish court has ordered the detention of a 24-year-old Italian citizen suspected of complicity in the kidnapping of a Swedish business executive last month.
The judge issuing the order said there was reasonable cause to believe that the man was involved in the kidnapping, but declined to comment further. The man was arrested Wednesday night in Copenhagen on suspicion of kidnapping Fabian Bengtsson—he has denied the accusations.
Bengtsson, the managing director of and heir to Siba, a popular chain of consumer electronic stores, was kidnapped January 17th and released unharmed two weeks later.
