Many accidents in south's first snow
This winter’s first snow has fallen in southern Sweden, and the nation's weather agency has issued a class 1 warning for the region.
The police are calling on motorists to slow down and keep their distance from the cars in front of them. They’re also calling on those who haven’t yet switched to winter tires to stay home.
The warning covers much of central and southern Sweden and say that 1 to 5 centimeters of snow could accumulate during the day.
The weather service is also cautioning residents about higher river levels as the wet snow melts into the watershed.
