Radio Sweden's Friday Guest is Abdellah Taia, one of Morocco's best-known authors, who's in town for the Stockholm International Poetry Festival. Here he talks about growing up as an effiminate boy in a country where homosexuality is outlawed, how he killed his real self to survive and how his debut film has fulfilled a lifelong ambition.

Our journalism is based on credibility and impartiality. Swedish Radio is independent and not affiliated to any political, religious, financial, public or private interests.
