Since 1960 millions of Swedes have grown up with the Christmas calendar serials on Swedish TV and Radio. This year Swedish-speaking children can hear the story of the abandoned High Tower.

The radio story for 2014 is about a deserted sky scraper sitting in the middle of a decaying town in the middle of nowhere.

As the project to build the tower failed, the wealth drained from the town.

This abandoned 25 storey towe will be explored over the next few weeks by a group of children.

The narrator is singer Ebbot Lundberg, now  in a solo after a career in the major Swedish band The Soundtrack of our Lives.

Children who understand Swedish can tune in to the Yule Calender every day on Swedish Public Radio's P4 channel - or listen on the web or on the Play app for smartphones.
