The Swedish women's Olympic gold-winning cross-country skiing relay team won the Svenska Dagbladet sports award, Bragdguld.

Svenska Dagbladet's editor-in-chief, Fredric Karén, told Radio Sweden it was "an extraordinary team achievement".

The prize committee motivated their choice, writing that the team deserved the award "for a sensational Olympic gold, won through team spirit and strong individual performance, crowned by a magic spurt."

Ida Ingemarsdotter, Charlotte Kalla, Anna Haag and Emma Wikén brought gold home for Sweden, with Kalla making the magic recovery that took the team to first in the last stretch.

The award has been given out since 1925 for outstanding achievement in sports.
