Gävle's little Yule goat also targeted
Vandals in the town of Gävle knocked over a smaller version of the city's famed Yule goat, which itself is the perennial target of arsonists.
The smaller straw goat, erected by area high school students, was not even up for a week before it was tipped over sometime Thursday night, Swedish Radio's local channel in Gävle reports.
Police said a witness saw three people overturn the statue, which sits near the city's main Christmas goat in the central square of Slottstorget.
Standing some 13 meters high, the main yule goat has been erected just before Christmas for almost 50 years and, more often than not, vandals have set fire to it.
Last year, despite soaking the structure in flame-retardant liquid, the goat was burned down on December 21.
