Crash after crash in Malmö and Lund

Published torsdag 11 december 2014 kl 19.26

Trecherous ice on the roads in Southern Sweden caused multiple motorway pile-ups in the Thursday rush-hour.

The icy conditions in Malmö and Lund resulted in at least five accidents on the E22 motorway within an hour on Thursday.

At the same time, at least 15 cars had crashed. No serious injuries were reported at around 18.30, according to the police in Skåne.

"The patrols are telling us that it is extremely icy. It has rained and it is very windy also. So even if the temperature in the car shows plus degrees, it is freezing on the roads," police officer Linda Pleym told SVT news.
