The Swedish International Development Agency is increasing its financial aid to schools abroad by SEK 570 million.

The recipient of the funding, Global Partnership for Education (GPE), is focused on improving the education systems in countries with poor access to schools.

One of the main priorities will be to improve the chances for girls to attend school. Girls make up a majority of the 60 million children who are currently outside the education system. The gender disparity increases with age and level of education.
