Shares on the Stockholm exchange hit an all-time high just before it closed for Christmas Eve.

This broke a record set in early December; following similar trends in other major European exchanges.

America's Dow Jones also broke records, reports news agency TT.

Among the major corporations rising on the Stockholm exchange were industrial firms like SSAB (up 5.6 percent), and Atlas Copco, (up 1.8 percent).

But losers were pharmaceutical firm Astra Zeneca (down 2.4 percent), and communications company Tele 2 (down 0.4 percent).

Building giant Skanska saw a jump of 0.4 percent in its share value after selling its offices in Poland for a sum equal to over SEK 600 million.
