Migration Board accused of age discrimination
Sweden’s Discrimination Ombudsman is taking the Migration Board to court for hiring younger people with less experience instead of a 52 year old job applicant.
According to the ombudsman, when the board hired 18 people as case officers at its Malmö office, none was over the age of 36. The 52 year wasn’t even called in for a job interview.
The State Board of Appeals upheld his petition, but he board says his previous job as a security guard made him unsuitable to work with asylum seekers.
