With flu season starting, there is a risk that this year's vaccine will not have an effect against most of the strains of the virus that have already headed this way, reports Swedish Radio P4 Jönköping.

The vaccine will not work against thirteen of the 15 strains of flu virus that have been identified here so far, according to the Public Health Agency of Sweden.

Which types of flu strain should be targeted is decided a year in advance by experts appointed by the World Health Organization.
