The line was long and the presents were many at the Swedish parliament today, writes news agency TT, as the outgoing leader of the conservative Moderates and also Sweden's former Prime Minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, said farewell to politics after more than two decades in the Riksdag.

Politicians, director generals, county governors, and business leaders were in attendance as Reinfeldt officially left Parliament, after first being elected to national office in 1991. On Saturday, he will be handing over the leadership of the party to Anna Kinberg Batra at the Moderates' conference in Stockholm, if she is approved by party delegates.
