Police say a man who is lost in the mountains in central Sweden together with his daughter has now been found.

The man and his eleven-year-old daughter were driving a snowmobile close to the Norwegian border in Dalarna when the snowmobile got stuck in the snow. They then carried on by foot, but local emergency services had difficulty finding them.

Helicopters and mountain rescue squads looked all night, hampered by thick snow in the area, but this morning the man managed to call his brother to say the two were taking cover in a lean-to shelter. Police later intensified their hunt, before finding the two in the shelter, cold but otherwise unharmed TV4 News reports.
