Kids jump from 3rd story apartment in dramatic fire rescue
Four children jumped from a burning, third-floor apartment in Helsingborg Wednesday morning in a dramatic evacuation. The four children and two adults in the building were taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.
A police spokesperson said that he did not believe the injuries were life threatening, reported daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter. When rescue personnel responded to a report of fire, they found smoke billowing out the windows and all four children safely on the ground. A neighbor had dragged a mattress to the window for the children to land on.
Rescue personnel helped the two adults evacuate the apartment with a ladder. The apartment was completely burned in the fire.
