Sweden has been knocked out of the World Handball Championships, losing its quarter-final against Poland 20 - 24.

The team had to play without striker Kim Andersson due to a shoulder injury, and the team failed to impress, despite having played well in the group games.

With just 15 minutes left in the game both sides were level at 15 - 15, when Poland scored two quick goals, which added pressure on the Swedes. Viktor Östlund and Jonas Källman were then suspended, giving the Poles a clear advantage on the court.
