The conservative Moderate party has dominated defense issues in public opinion polls for a long time, but in a new poll the center-left Social Democrats have almost caught up with them.

The poll was conducted by newspaper Dagens Nyheter and polling firm Ipsos, and it shows that the Moderates and Social Democrats are in a dead heat in regards to defense questions. When asked who has the best defense policy, 21 percent responded that they thought the Moderates' policy is best, while 20 percent preferred the Social Democrats'.

Another revelation from the poll showed that the Greens lost support on environmental and climate issues. They received 44 percent support for those policies, which is a 12 percent drop from a similar poll from August 2014.
