Northern Sweden braces for blizzard
The national weather service SMHI has issued a warning for strong winds and heavy snowfall in the far north of Sweden this weekend, Swedish Radio news reports.
The weather service expects winds at an average speed of 60-70 miles per hour and very limited to zero visibility in the mountains on Saturday. Meteorologists at SMHI say to Swedish Radio that the wind may cause trees to fall over and they recommend people in the area to stay indoors.
The storm is expected to move in Saturday morning and reach its peak strength in the afternoon.
