One person has died and several people have been brought to hospital following a hot water main break in downtown Lund in southern Sweden, Swedish Radio News reports.

The hot water came gushing out on the cold street from a burst district heating pipe which caused the area to become shrouded in fog. The limited visibility caused a bus to run into by-passers on the sidewalk - killing one - and a handful of people got burns from the close to 88 degree celsius water.

The break should already be fixed, but it's still unclear when the street will reopen for traffic. The break happened close to the central station in Lund.
