Police suspect a bus driver of manslaughter after a man was run over on Saturday night in Lund, and later died, according to the tabloid Aftonbladet.

That night, it was chaotic in the southern city, because a hot water main by the central station had burst. When the scalding hot water met the cold street, it created thick fog, and in the chaos, a bus ran into a gathering of people.

The suspicions are based on the first information that came from the scene of the accident or crime, according to Swedish Radio P4 Malmöhus, but no technical investigation has been carried out yet. That will begin on Monday, when police will comb the bus for clues about what happened.

On Saturday evening, police will be questioning several witnesses, as well as the driver.

Aside from the man who was killed, three people were injured in the crash, and minutes before, three other people had been burned by the hot water.
