A school in Västerås was evacuated for a few hours on Wednesday afternoon after a bomb threat.

The head teacher of Västerås City Gymnasium tells Swedish Radio's local channel that he received a text message at 1:21 pm on Wednesday afternoon. He immediately contacted the police and sent all of the students home.

Police cordoned off an area around the building in the Mimer part of town, but after searching through it, police lifted the cordon at about 3 pm.

Not only students and teachers were evacuated, but also local council officials working in offices in the same building.
