Swedish Eurovision winner Måns Zelmerlöw and comedienne Petra Mede were revealed as the hosts of next year's Eurovision Song Contest today. Representatives from Swedish Television SVT were obviously pleased by their choice.

Motivating the choice of Mede and Zelmerlöw as presenters, Martin Österdahl, executive producer of Eurovision 2016, told Radio Sweden, "We had a unique opportunity to present two super-professional hosts ... and that is Petra and Måns, and that felt like an irresistible opportunity for us."

"What Europe doesn't know is that our defending champ is also one of our best male TV hosts, and that's going to surprise a lot of people, I think," said Österdahl. Zelmerlöw hosted a popular summertime TV show, Allsång på Skansen, in Sweden, from 2011 to 2013.
